DOW provides funding to domestic violence programs to provide direct services to victims and survivors of domestic violence. Agencies are contracted to provide the following, or a combination of the following, services: 

  • Housing, shelter, and rental assistance
  • Basic needs (hygiene, clothing, and food items) 
  • 24-hour hotline and emergency response
  • Victim advocacy (financial, housing, medical, employment, education, immigration, etc.)
  • Transportation
  • Interpretation and Translation
  • Legal advocacy (can include representation in high-risk situations, but also information, referral, know-your-rights, pro-bono training and legal clinics/seminars)
  • Medical accompaniment
  • Individual or group counseling
  • Children's services
  • Community education, training, and awareness
