Dozens attended the annual DHS Budget Listening Session on December 5 in Trenton. In front of a packed audience, Department of Human Services Commissioner Carole Johnson highlighted the many great initiatives and programs we worked on over the year, including the expansion of food assistance to career and technical community college students and Medicaid benefits, as well as NJSAVE, our new online application to help older New Jerseyans and people with disabilities access benefits. The Commissioner and senior staff also listened to stakeholders and the public give us suggestions and feedback on what areas they would like the department to prioritize as we shape our budget for next fiscal year. Thanks to those who attended!
